Im 17 My brother is 13 years old and is a Crip, we live in Compton California so its really rough round here. I made a good choice to stay out of gang life and get good grades and become something, unlike our dad who was also a Crip and was shot dead outside our house 3 years ago when my brother was 10. When my brother was 11 he wanted to get vengance or something i guess so he decided to join the local Crip gang. He got his first tattoo's 2 weeks later. One on his stomach saying "thug life" and one on the upper side of his back saying "Compton Crip" i was devastated that he had decided to join such a irresponsible and dangerous lifestyle. I was going to intervene but my mum told me to stay out of it, and that it was too 'dangerous' to try to get him out of it. When he was 12 years old he was shot 5 times in a drive-by - Once in his chest, once in his collerbone, once in his arm and two times in his leg. He survived, 5 of his 'friends' didn't. That was back in March 2010. Now he is angrier than ever. When he hit 13 he went insane, his only ambition and goal was to be a hardcore gangbanger and the youngest OG (original gangster) ever. He started doing more 'jobs' for the Crips, it involved, extortion , witness intimidation , shootings , burgulry's , drug dealing , vandalism and assaults. At only 13 years old he has 18 felonies on his record. It breaks my heart seeing what my little brother has turned into, i mostly blame my dad i remember when my brother and i was little he would dress my brother in baby clothes that had gang signs or gang slogans on them, then he would but an unloaded gun in his hand and then my dad would take a picture. I was more of an outsider of my family, all my family were gang members but me, i decided to go a differant way in life. But i want to save my brother, what can i do to help him ? I made him go to military camp, all that ended up happening was i got jumped and he got kicked out for assaulting an instructor, i tried to sit him down and have a heart to heart with him he just laughed , he's been to juvenile, all that ended up happening there is he met more Crips and assaulted rival gang members.
